#9 | New Term New Course: Welcome Back!
Hello everyone!!!
God, I’ve missed writing here. I hope you
all had a nice summer vacation and started the new term fresh and relaxed!!
Before getting to the main topic, I want to
introduce myself to those who do not know about me and this blog. Hi, I’m
Meryem, and I’m an English Language Teaching student, currently in her third
year. Last year I started this blog as an online portfolio for one of my
courses, and this year I am taking the continuation course. You can read more here and here.
As teacher candidates, we are aware of the
fact that it is crucial to know what kind of opportunities you have to support
your teaching and be familiar with them.
Last year, we started to engage with the
technological aspect of education and its appropriate use. We learned
about 21st-century learning and netiquette and prepared many
materials, such as podcasts, digital stories, reviews with collaborative writings, and interviews with AI chatbots.
However, we approached these tasks from the perspectives of both teaching students and language learners. With this new course, “Current Issues in Teaching," we are trying to change our perspective from students who encounter new experiences to teachers who are more knowledgeable and competent. I would really like to have you all by my side on this journey.
Take care for now, and I hope to see you in the next post <3
