#3 | Etiquette in Technology: NETIQUETTE
Hello, my dear readers!! I hope you are all doing well. If you are ready, let’s start with this post’s topic, Netiquette.
I want to start
with a question. Have you ever come across this term? Because honestly, I haven’t
till our class about “Legal and Ethical Issues in Technology”. The term netiquette
is a combination of “net” and “etiquette”. Even if you haven’t heard of it like me, the meaning
is kind of obvious to guess. I chose this topic because of its importance in today’s
technological world and to be more aware of our actions online.
This post also has
another star: infographics. I wanted to explain the core points of netiquette with
the help of infographics to make it more enjoyable with the visuals. I believe
that looking at an informative picture is much better than reading monotonous texts.
Along with studying an infographic, preparing it also has its benefits for
students, as they are creating something according to their tastes and kind of
playing with the patterns.
So, let’s look at the infographic that I made below.
I used a template
made by Freya Saad on Canva. You can check her work out by clicking on her name. The preparation
process was kind of exhausting because that was the first time for me to do
something like that and because of the constant changes I had to make in every
step. The major problem was that I couldn’t be sure if I was meeting the needs
of an infographic, such as: Is it appealing to the eye for people to be curious
about it? Are the pieces of information brief enough not to bore my readers? However,
it was generally a pleasant experience for me, and I am really proud of the
outcome.
Now that I have
done with the things I wanted to mention, I want to know about your experience.
Have you ever used an infographic while studying something, was it easier to
keep up with the work? Or even a better one, have you ever done an infographic
for your classes or just for personal use, which points did you pay attention
to?
See you in the next post, take care <3
