#4 | Podcasts in Education
Welcome back my dear readers, I hope you are all okay. Let me introduce you to this post’s main character: PODCAST!!
I am pretty sure you are all familiar with it whether you listen or not. Personally, I LOVE listening to them (feel free to drop recommendations!!), especially while commuting because they make me feel educated and productive. Therefore, I was pretty excited about our new task, making a podcast. As students, our workload wasn’t that heavy; however, me and my lovely partner Bilge Dilara Doğan (don’t forget to check her blog too <3) experienced some kinds of hardships. Simply, we were supposed to write a short story to speak out and record it. Sounds quite easy right? However, due to time restrictions, we had to delete most of our script, so when we were recording our voices, the story felt a little bit rushed out. Nevertheless, I had fun while working on the project.
As a teacher candidate, I would also give this kind of task too. While trying to make a podcast, I was able to self-reflect on my language use; I had to constantly check my pronunciation and correct my writing-related mistakes such as using appropriate grammar rules, punctuation, and content as the flow of the story is also quite important. Moreover, listening to the outcome was also precious to me as this was a work of mine and my friend. That’s why, I think experiencing this process is important for students.
Here is our sound-rich story, a young boy and his greediness. I hope you will enjoy it.
Take care!!
